Driver – camera-controlled driving game for kids

Turn the wheel – the car turns with you.

Driver turns a pot lid into a steering wheel. Your child holds a pot lid or any other round object in both hands, stands in front of the device and turns it like a real wheel. The camera reads the movement, and the blue car on screen turns with them. The road winds along a mountain lake, and cones, wooden crates, rocks and barriers block the way. Steer around them, keep going and watch the score grow. No real steering wheel or extra controller needed.

Key features

What it trains

Driver trains coordination and reflexes. Your child has to spot an obstacle early, decide which way to go and turn the wheel in time – with both hands and the whole body, not a fingertip. Every turn is a quick left-or-right decision, so the game also practises telling left from right. Score, time, speed and a lane mini-map stay on screen, which helps your child keep their focus on the road ahead.

How to play

  1. Put the device where the front camera can see you.
  2. Hold a pot lid or any other round object in both hands, like a steering wheel.
  3. Turn the wheel left or right – the car follows.
  4. Dodge the obstacles and watch your score grow.

Off-screen play ideas

  • Pillow track: build a road out of pillows on the floor and let your child drive along it with a pot lid as the steering wheel.
  • Traffic lights: make red, yellow and green cards, hold one up and let your child stop, slow down or drive on.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a real steering wheel?

No. A pot lid or any other round object your child can hold in both hands is enough. The camera follows how they turn it.

Is the camera image recorded or sent anywhere?

No. The camera image is processed only on the device to read the steering movements. Nothing is recorded or sent anywhere.

Are there ads or in-app purchases?

No. You pay once for the Android app and get the whole game. There are no ads and nothing to buy inside it.

Does Driver work offline?

Yes. The Android app works fully offline. The browser version will need the internet only to load; after that it runs without a connection.
